Colour Values Miranda Auckland

This month’s project did not immediately appeal to me as the word ‘value’ put me off! but, once I started to draw a variety of designs and chose some colours, I looked forward to starting. I finally chose a spiral pattern.
I did this work on a piece of quite stiff, cream- coloured hessian that I found. I tacked a 1” hem around and the finished piece measures 12” by 24”. I used mostly wool fabric and some fleece, I cut it into ¼” strips and I hooked it. I cut very thin strips of the fabrics and did a running stitch around the hessian to finish it off.

I sewed buttons onto the beginning of each spiral.
